As proprietors, we (David Paintin, Martin Teese and Jessica Leliuga) have more than sixty five years of butchery experience between us and are still inventing new sausage recipes and gourmet meat ideas every week. Whether you like the idea of unusual flavours of sausages – changing week to week – or a variety of innovative meats, we stock something for everyone. We pride ourselves on sourcing our meat locally and have our Gold Standard Quality Mark Certificate displayed at the shop, assuring our customers that our meats are sourced from reputable suppliers and are farm assured, quality assured, fully traceable and accredited.
We now have two outlets for our produce – our original Ye Olde Sausage Shop in Oswaldtwistle Mills and the Black Horse Food Emporium in Accrington. See our contact page for more details. In addition, we are delighted to now offer a Click & Collect service from both our outlets and a delivery service to local areas.
Our Cumberland and Old Fashioned sausages won the BPEX North West Championship 2012 and 2013 respectively and we have more than 50 Gold Awards.
Jessica has recently qualified to represent Great Britain at the 2018 World Butchers’ Challenge, being the first female to ever represent Team GB in Butchery.
We have more than 12 different varieties of sausages available in our shops everyday and if we haven’t got your flavour, please ask and if we can we will make it for you straight away. This is just part of the service we deliver at Ye Olde Sausage Shop. We also have our own range of very popular slimmer’s products (Slimmer’s Choice) including sausages, burgers, kebabs, meatballs, stuffed mushrooms and peppers. They are all fat free or very low fat and extra tasty too!
Gluten-free sausages and burgers are available from our freezer – Lancashire Pork, Pork and Apple, Cumberland, Italian Pork & Garlic sausage. Also we supply a range of burgers too.
